The Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE) classifies autonomous driving systems into six levels, from Level 0 to Level 5.
For today’s autonomous vehicles, Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) fall under Level 2 to Level 3, while fully driverless autonomous driving is categorized as Level 4 to Level 5.
Therefore, to achieve full autonomy, the use of HD Maps to enhance sensor perception capability is essential.

The Ministry of the Interior, in collaboration with the HD Maps Research Center, is jointly promoting the development of a comprehensive HD map ecosystem centered on the Ministry’s concepts. This system integrates static map data from professional vehicle-mounted mobile mapping systems and combines it with dynamic map data verified by third-party systems, providing accurate and real-time map support for autonomous driving systems.
